D.G.Vanzara receives warm reception at Ahmedabad airport

Ahmedabad

Retired Gujarat Police officer D.G.Vanzara today returned to Gujarat after prolong jail term in Ahmedabad and Mumbai and months long stay in Maharshtra as per court direction.

Vanzara was welcomed by large number of people and a traditional band at Sardar Patel airport here. In his brief talk with media persons he said, “after nine years I have been back to Gujarat. I was in Sabarmati jail for seven years and was for six months in Taloja jail in Maharashtra. After 8 year of imprisonment when I was released from Sabarmati jail, there were some conditions attached to my release on bail due to which I had to stay in Mumbai. Though for many years I was in Sabarmati jail, it was not like I was in Gujarat.”

“After nine years I have been back from Maharashtra and I am very happy. And I am more happy because you have come to receive me in such a good number. On this occasion I want to make you realize that this is not a welcome extended to me, but this is a welcome extended to Gujarat Police. This is a welcome extended to Hindustan’s patriots, this is a welcome extended to people of Gujarat. Today is Vikram Samvat 2073’s Pratipada divas. I have come from Maharshtra where it is celebrated as Gudi Padva. Gujarat celebrates new year post Diwali, but in other parts of India this is considered a new year day.”

Vanzara said the airport welcoming is just a trailer with presence of supporters, well-wishers and fans. The major event is going to be held at Gandhinagar town hall where he will speak in detail.

Vanzara then drove to Gandhinagar.
