Surat
Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel while dedicating an affordable housing scheme in Surat said the housing schemes constructed by government will do branding job for government.
She said the housing units are built as per best quality parameters to change the image of government. Nowadays when someone passes through a road and looks at govt housing scheme, he/she feels this is private housing scheme and this can’t be a government constructed scheme.
She said therefore she has ordered civic and govt bodies that they should have their title over housing schemes. This will serve as branding exercise for the government.
Anandiben in her speech said the government is planning to install roof-top solar plants over housing schemes. She said combination of use of solar and central government scheme for subsidized LED bulbs will save electricity.
She said under a new model, the government will not need to spend for slum rehabilitation. She said the builder will be allowed to use additional space available after construction of housing units on plot. She said she is going to inaugurate one such scheme in Ahmedabad soon.
