BJP will be victorious with 2/3rd majority in Gujarat, Congress ‘day dream’ won’t be fulfilled:Amit Shah
August 19, 2016
Correspondent, Gandhinagar: BJP national president Amit Shah today said that the day-dreaming of Congress to come to power after the next year’s assembly elections in Gujarat would never be fulfilled and his party would again form the government in the state with overwhelming over two third majority.
He also said that looking at the achievements of Narendra Modi government during last two and a half years, BJP was well poised to remain in power at center too for a long period in the future.
Speaking at the felicitation ceremony of the newly appointed state BJP president Jeetu Vagahani at the provincial party headquarters in Koba near here, Mr Shah said that formation of any other government in Gujarat except that of BJP was not possible.
The state laid the foundation of the victory of BJP in 2014 general elections and it would again do so for the 2019 general elections by making the ruling party victorious in the 2017 assembly election in the state, he said.
The day dreaming (Shekh Chilli ke sapne) of the Congress and other conspirators (to form government in Gujarat after 2017 assembly polls) won’t ever be fulfilled. No other government except for that of the BJP was possible here,’ he said.
He also elaborated on the developmental works of BJP governments in the state and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi who taught the whole world about ways of development in his regime as the then CM of Gujarat since 2001 will inaugurate first link of Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation(SAUNI) project on August 30 which will go a long way in better availability of water in Saurshtra region.
The BJP president lambasted main opposition Congress for its misrule in Gujarat. ‘In the Congress regime in Gujarat on an average curfew was imposed for 150 days out of 300 days. But for the past 14 years of BJP’s rule Gujarat has not seen curfew,’ Mr Shah said.
‘We are contesting elections since 1960s but the real start of coming to power begin with BJP’s win in Gujarat in 1990 and since then Congress continuously got wiped out. It did not get a chance to breath till 2016. Today BJP rules more than 15 states with over 1000 MLAs to its kitty. There was a time when we did not have over 25 MLAs in all. Now we have 300 MPs in both the houses. In 30 years BJP has emerged as the sole party with absolute majority at center,’ he said.
Mr shah said that the journey of BJP’s becoming the world’s largest party with 11 crore members from its modest beginning as Jansangh in 1950 with around 10 members was the result of the sacrifice of many party leaders.
Union ministers of state Parshottam Rupala and Mansukh Mandaviya, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, former Chief Minister Mrs Anandiben Patel, BJP state in-charge Dinesh Sharma, National Jt. General Secretary V Satish were also present on the occasion.
As soon as Mr Shah rose to address the party cadres started shouting ‘Dekho Dekho Kanu Aaya, Gujarat ka Sher Aaya’ (Look who has come, it is lion of Gujarat).
Earlier Mr Vaghani in his over half an hour long speech had thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for showing faith in him and spoke at length about various issues.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in his address appealed the party cadres and those in government to work together to ensure party’s victory in the coming elections. He said that his government was taking great care of the organization.
He also said that his government’s four point formula of rule included working in a completely transparent and corruption free manner and making decisions quickly. He said that the government and the organization both have now only one year for the preparations for the polls. ‘Narendrabhai (the then CM Narendra Modi) said in 2001 that the party would have to prepare for the then polls as if playing a one day match but I now say that we will have to bat as if it is a T 20. With such a strong organization of dedicated works behind us as wicket keeper there is nothing to worry even if we bat on an uneven pitch,’ he said.
