Ahmedabad: Post 10.45 or 11.00 pm, first there was strong wind, then drizzle, but Khelaiyas still continued with Garba on the grounds. But then there was even stronger wind. Drizzle and light rains converted into heavy downpour. Dark sky was constantly roaring with frequent lightening. For Garba players and organizers it was getting impossible to continue. Most of the 56 commercial events of Navratri, and almost all other non-commercial ones discontinued Garba and music. Wherever aarti was pending, it was completed. Those who had completed aarti before garba were happier. This was the scene of first evening of Sharadiya Navratri this year in Ahmedabad and also in Gandhinagar. MET has predicted further rounds of showers for next four-five days. This is not the first time that rain has played spoiler during Navratri in Ahmedabad. This has happened before in recent years.
