Gujarat BJP starts Adivasi Vikas Gaurav Yatra from Unai

Surat: Gujarat BJP today started its ‘Adivasi Vikas Gaurav Yatra’ from Uani in South Gujarat. The yatra will pass through 1450 km route for ten days covering 83 villages of 50 talukas in 15 tribal populated districts and conclude on February 18 at Ambaji in North Gujarat. The yatra will see 26 public meetings. It will be welcomed at 54 places. National president of BJP Amit Shah will attend the concluding function of this yatra which started today in presence of state chief minister and Gujarat BJP president who is leading the yatra. One of main focus of yara is to spread the message regarding State government’s recent decision on PESA ACT. During today’s function Adivasi Sena outfit’s president Pankaj Patel and his supporters joined BJP. According to party statement, Adivasi Sena has 50,000 members. Gujarat is going to witness general elections for assembly later this year, most likely in the month of December. In view of ongoing anti-BJP Patidar quota agitation, it is necessary for the state BJP to ensure that it get near total number of seats in bastions that are not impacted by Patidar quota agitation. With strong party organization rooted at taluka level, the yatra will have its audience, but due to lack of any mass magnet, crowd puller, gripping orator(which Gujarat BJP completely lacks these days) the yatra will fail to have natural traction/impactful connect. Worth mentioning here that Gujarat Congress too has declared its Adivasi Yatra covering tribal belt of Gujarat in the month of April this year.
