161 km Run the Rann race in Kutch

Bhuj: Run the Rann race which is organized for last four years by Gujarat Tourism, Gujarat Police and BSF through Ahmedabad based private firm Uphill EMG is going to start tomorrow. This year there are three types of races – 161 km, 101 km and 51 km. According to organizers the race event this year is going to be held at Dholavira Rann. It will cover the route of Dholavira – Chhaparia – Rakhal – Karani BOP – Janan – Ratanpar – Amrapar – Lodrani Kuda and Khadir rann. All racers will have GPS. The participants, total 110 this year are from various states of India, U.K. USA, Canada, Italy and France among other countries. DIG Shamsher Singh, BSF Commander, BSF Jawans will also participate in this race. The longest 161 km version of run will complete on February 13. The race will be flagged off by Gujarat Tourism Corporation’s Managing Director.
