Amit Shah resigns as Gujarat MLA after elected to Rajya Sabha

Gandhinagar: BJP national president Amit Shah today resigned as member of legislative assembly(MLA), hours after he was declared elected as Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat.
Shah gave his resignation to Speaker of Gujarat Assembly Ramanlal Vora.
Shah was representing Naranpura assembly seat in Ahmedabad.
Shah was first elected to Gujarat assembly in 1995 from Sarkhej constituency of Ahmedabad. He was reelected from Sarkhej in 1998, 2002 and 2007. In 2012 he was reelected as MLA from Naranpura constituency in the city.
Shah attended Gujarat assembly session for the last time in present term today.
Congratulatory motion on election of MLA Amit Shah as Rajya Sabha member was moved int assembly, speaking on which the Chief Minister said Amit Shah will be remembered as Super Star of this house.
Shah delivered a speech during motion on Sardar Sarovar Narmada Yojana.
