Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar:
Rejecting Congress allegation that BJP government was misusing the security agenicies for monitoring the activities of its political opponents, Deputy CM Nitin Patel today said that it was a routine affair for the security staff of a VVIP like Rahul Gandhi and others to keep an eye on their movements for their safety.
Gehlot earlier today said that the leak of CCTV footage of PAAS leader Hardik Patel going in a hotel in Ahmedabad to meet him raises many questions.
‘The BJP government was misusing the security agencies for surveillance of political opponents. What is the interest of BJP in whether Hardik met Rahul Gandhi or not. What it has to do with it. I don’t blame security agencies because they were not doing anything at their own but were pressurized to do so by the government,’ Gehlot had said.
DyCM Patel said that it was a routine affair for the security staff of VVIP’s to keep a watch on the places where they stay or move for safety reasons. ‘The government has no role in it’, he said.
