Video showing Congress leader in Gujarat instigating farmers to burn buses and public properties goes viral

Patan/Gandhinagar:

The video of a Congress leader inciting farmers in Gujarat to burn government buses and other public properties and also block roads by chopping off trees has gone viral.

Ruling BJP has taken strong exception to it while Congress state president Bharatsinh Solanki has said that the party did not support any kind of violence.

The video shows Patan Taluka Congress chief Ashwin Patel addressing a meeting reportedly organized by youth wing of the party there to protest the government decision to stop supply of Narmada water for agri purposes coming season.

Patel is seen urging the farmers to burn the buses and torch other public properties to make the ‘deaf and dumb’ government aware of the problems of the farmers. He also urged them to send sms and phone calls to farmers overnight to create havoc before the system awakes next morning.

BJP state general secretary K C Patel said that such behaviour of a congress leader shows that the party which won 3 of the four assembly seats in Patan was not interested in taking forward the developmental works but want to mislead the people and derail it. He said that BJP condemned it.

Solanki said that Congress did not support violence in any form. Though he said that if the farmers were deprived of Narmada water, the party would resort to agitation.
