6.5 km stretch of Ahmedabad Metro train project first phase further delayed, to open next year
March 01, 2018
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Metro rail project is delayed once again. The State government officially made a statement revealing this in the assembly today.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said the Metro rail project suffered delay due to court case pertaining to a global tender.
Nitin Patel said the project cost had gone up due to delay.
He said the 6.5 km part of first phase of the project will be launched next year.
It should be noted here that Vastral to Apparel party stretch of the first phase of Metro rail project was to open last year in September before the model code of conduct ahead of the general election of assembly. However as per today’s statement by Nitin Patel, the 6.5 km stretch will carry metro train only in the next year.
