Violence during Ram Navmi procession in communally sensitive area of Vadodara

Vadodarat: There has been an incident of violence again during the Hindu festival in Vadodara.

A Ram Navmi procession was attacked today evening by anti-social persons in sensitive Fatehpura area that has seen communal violence even in the past during the Hindu festivals.

The procession passing through Fatehpura area witnessed heavy stone pelting. The city police was quick in response.

Police men lobbed at least 10 tear gas shells and used slight force to control the crowd and restore peace.

The situation was soon brought back to normality and combing drive as well as rounding up of mischief makers was started.
