Gandhinagar: Gujarat Assembly today passed Gujarat Police (Amendment) bill 2018.
According to Minister of State for Home Pradipsinh Jadeja who moved this bill, restaurants will not need to obtain or renew the license for doing business from authority with implementation of provisions in this bill.
‘As per the section 33(1) of Gujarat Police Adhiniyam – 1951, restaurants need to obtain license from district magistrate/police commissioner and renew it time to time. Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Gujarat Hotels and Restaurants Association had asked government to end this licensing system. The government has responded positively and decided to abolish it,’ Jadeja said.
