Rs 61.12 crore Adajan Bus Port opens in Surat

Surat: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani today inaugurated a modern Bus Station at Adajan in Surat, built at a cost of Rs.61.12-crore on PPP basis jointly by Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) and Hub Town Bus Terminal Private Limited.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the bus station at Adajan has been built with the ambience of airport terminal with 24 hour cleanliness, franchise food courts, budget hotels, public address system with information of buses movements.

He said that GSRTC main ‘Bus Stations’ at Vadoara, Gita Mandir and Ranip (Ahmedabad), Mehsana and Rajkot have been given facelift as ‘Bus Ports’ on PPP basis. Plan is to convert all the major bus stations at district towns into Bus Ports, 15 are in progress.
Even as 25-lakh people travel by GSRTC buses daily, he said Volvo and mini buses are being added to the existing fleet. GSRTC will also undertake body building, maintenance and repair at workshops.
