Rupani assures protection to people from outside Gujarat, slams Rahul Gandhi over his tweet
October 08, 2018
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today said that all those elements who attacked people from other states have been promptly arrested within hours.
Speaking to media persons at Rajkot, he assured of police protection to all of them, saying that adequate security is being provided to them.
Rupani said that it has been the characteristic and tradition of Gujarat and the Gujaratis to consider people from other states as their own — all living together in peace and in an atmosphere of harmony and bonhomie.
He appealed to all to maintain peace and harmony in the state.
Later slamming the Congress party, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said, ‘Congress first incites violence against migrants. Congress President tweets to condemn this violence. Does the Congress President nothave any shame?’
‘If the Congress President is against the violence in Gujarat, he needs to take action against its own members who incited violence against the migrants in Gujarat. Tweeting is not the solution, taking action is! But will he act?’
‘We are working hard to ensure trust and confidence among all citizens that they are safe and secure in Gujarat, instead of indulging in blame game’
‘However, Congress President needs to be ashamed of tweeting this when his own party is inciting violence against migrants.’
