Dang: A bus carrying children fell in a deep gorge in hilly Dang district of South Gujarat this evening.
Unconfirmed sources claimed that at least 3 children have died in the accident that occurred near Mahalpar village under Subir police station. The bus had taken around 50 to 70 children for Picnic. It fell in an over 200 ft deep gorge near a turn when the driver lost control of the steering of the speeding bus.
However, SP Dangs Shweta Srimali said that as per the primary information 20 children have been injured.
‘It is a remote area where mobile phone connectivity was difficult. We have limited information so far. We also don’t know as to how many students were there in the bus and where it had come from. The rescue efforts were on in full swing,’ she said.
Another police official said that the bus was from Amreli. Several of the children have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
More details are awaited.
