2 workers of Jindal Saw Ltd’s pipe making plant in Kutch of Gujarat die as melted iron falls on them

Bhuj: At least two workers in the SAW pipe manufacturing plant of Jindal Saw Ltd, an O P Jindal group company, in Samaghogha viollage in Mundra taluka of Kutch district in Gujarat died a tragic death today as melted iron accidentally fell on them.

Police said Saroj Kumar Das (38) and Nyan Kumar Dandaya (38) died when the hook of a crane loaded with melted iron suddenly broke down.

Both of them were reportedly non-Gujaratis who used to live in Samaghogha and Mundra. It was not immediately clear whether they were regular employees of the company or contract based workers.

Local inspector of factories was conducting a probe in to the incident that took place at around 6 am this morning.

Notably, Multinational company Jindal Saw Ltd makes Saw pipes and has plants at various places including Italy.
