Foundation stone laid for Karanj Textile Park in Surat

Surat: Textile minister Smriti Irani today laid foundation stone for Karanj textile park which has more than 40 units of weaving, knitwear and texturising.
The textile park was approved under Government of India’s Scheme of Integrated Textile Park (SITP) which will have weaving, knitting & texturizing units and will provide employment to over 1500 people leading to revenue generation of more than Rs. 300 crore according to minister Irani.
Foundation stone was also laid for 25 MLD ZLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant for Textiles Processing at Gujarat Eco Textile Park in Surat. 44 units of Textile park will now reuse processed water thereby curtailing environmental hazard & saving livelihood of 15,000 workers.
