PM Modi to declare India as Open Defecation Free on Oct 2 during Mega event of Sarpanchs at Sabarmati Riverfront

Gandhinagar: PM Narendra Modi will formally declare India as Open Defecation Free (ODF) on October 2 during a mega convention of more than 20000 Sarpanchs from across the country organized at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad on the occasion of the 150 th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Gujarat DyCM Nitin Patel today informed.
He said that on the occasion the PM would also address the gathering of more than 20000 sarpanchs out of which 10,000 will be from Gujarat alone and the remaining would be Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and other states/Union Territories. It is estimated that there will be more than 60% women attendees in the event.
