Ahmedabad: Muslim populated areas of Ahmedabad city observe bandh against Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA). Passed by both houses of parliament after long discussion, CAB proposes to grant citizenship to persecuted minority refugees from three neighboring Islamic nations who entered India before 2015. The bandh call appeal was circulated in social media with the names of several Muslim muftis, maulanas and Congress leaders from Muslim community including MLAs. Bandh impact could be seen in Muslims populated areas of wall city and Juhapura.

-City police used canning briefly to disperse a mob of Muslims gathered outside Sardarbaug in wall city as section 144 is effective in the city.

-Some ruckus creators were also nabbed by police from wall city area.

 

– Incidents of stone pelting are reported in Mirzapur trikonia bagicha area for sometime in the afternoon. A city bus too suffered some damage due to stone pelting near Lucky restaurant. One youth was injured possibly due to stone pelting.
