To counter ‘falsehood’, BJP to organise pro-CAA rallies in all districts
New Delhi: The BJP on Saturday announced that the ruling party will organise a rally in each district across the country and will address media conference in 250 towns and cities on the CAA.
BJP general secretary Bhupender Yadav announced this at a media conference here and specially directed his tirade against the Congress party.
“Is it true that the principal opposition party will continue to spread falsehood and confusion on CAA as its leader Dr Manmohan Singh had supported such a legislation in 2003 ?,” he said.
Mr Yadav stepped up attack against RJD, which he said is an associate of Congress and used ‘aagjani vishay (inflammable items)’ during their protest on Saturday in Bihar.
“Whether Congress party supports such conduct….”,” he wanted to know.
He also said whether it will be proper for the country’s principal party to justify protest abroad in front of Indian embassies.
The BJP leader said during their stint in power between 2004 and 2014, various Congress ministers have expressed concern on the status of religious minorities in three countries – than what way an attempt being made to ‘resolve’ the problem permanently is being opposed.
He said the Congress party should seek clarification on the matter from the former Prime Minister Dr Singh – who during a debate in Rajya Sabha in 2003 had backed a legislation to deal with the problems and hardships faced by the persecuted religious minorities in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Mr Yadav also said during their stints in Gujarat and Rajasthan, the erstwhile Congress regimes had given citizenship to people and went onto ask – “Whether Congress leadership would now like to backtrack on the matter”.
