February 06, 2020
Gandhinagar: State tribal development minister Ganpat Vasava today in a statement said the State government would not consider fake certificate of tribal candidate in Lok Rakshak Dal recruitment even in a single case. If anyone has any objection in this regard, the government is open to have dialogue.
Vasava said the State cabinet meeting today decided to take strict actions against fake tribals. He alleged Congress of doing double speak and plotting division among various communities.
Vasava further said:
– In SC/ST commission year 1955 (5th report) Union home ministry had through its notification dated 29 September 1956 had made Rabari, Bharwad and Charan community people living in forest areas of Alech, Barda and Gir eligible for ST certificate. Congress government led by Jawaharlal Nehru was in power at that time.
– Through a decision dated 28 January 1993, then Chief Minister Chimanbhai Patel and then tribal minister Mohansinh Rathwa government formed Jayant Malkan committee. Chhotubhai Vasava was tribal development department’s parliamentary secretary at that time. 17,503 vigat darshak card were given then.
The BJP government on 28 March 2018 passed a bill in the assembly regarding issuance and scrutiny of SC/ST certificates. The bill was approved by President of India on 5 October 2018 and became law which is effective today to protect the interests of tribals.
Presently as per the Supreme Court directive in Madhuri Patil case, a five member scrutiny panel led by Commissioner of Aadijati Vikas has been active.
LRD exam conducted by home department involved 2372 candidates suitable for scrutiny, of them 2110 candidates were approved while 210 are undergoing scrutiny. 52 remained absent.
Whether to include any community in the list of ST is decided by the Centre and the parliament. Sins committed by Congress party during 1956-1993 are now being washed by BJP government.
