March 03, 2020
New Delhi: Women will run Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s social media accounts for a day on next Sunday, which is Women’s day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made this announcement today, after cryptic tweet yesterday in which PM said, ‘This Sunday, thinking of giving up my social media account on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube. Will keep you all posted.’
PM’s tweet yesterday had sparked off speculation regarding launch of India’s own social media platforms, data localization, left wing bias on social media platform, China like walled social media networks, social media detox and more.
However the debate remained short lived as, upcoming Sunday is women’s day. Lot of people started discussing that PM’s tweet could be about Women’s day and he could hand over his social media accounts to selected women. By morning this idea took over the discussion.
In the afternoon, PM tweeted and confirmed the same.
