Ahmedabad – Udaipur Broad gauge line likely to be operational by mid of 2021

Himmatnagar: Broad gauge line connecting Ahmedabad and Udaipur is likely to be ready by mid of year 2021.
According to Railway officials, Rs. 1660 crore project involves broad gauge connectivity/conversion between Ahmedabad and Udaipur.
In the first phase, Ahmedabad – Himmatnagar broad gauge works have been completed and even trains were operated on this route.
Recently works of rail track laying are completed on Himmatnagar – Dungarpur route. Presently trial runs of trains are underway on this route. Later, the railway officials will do supervision and prepare a final report, after which Himmatnagar – Dungarpur trains will start running.
Rail track laying works on Dungarpur – Udaipur route are underway and likely to complete by April 2021.
Himmatnagar – Dungarpur route will have railway station such as Dungarpur, Bichchiwadi, Lusawadi, Sanaji road, Raygadh road, Virawada, Salathana, Shri Bharnath, Jagabor and Suno.
The new line when completed will also offer another route to Delhi from Ahmedabad.
