Amritsar – Jamnagar expressway works to commence in FY 2021-22: Govt

New Delhi: In a note released by Ministry of Finance, Government of India, it is announced today that construction of Amritsar – Jamnagar highway will commence in financial year 2021-22. Same note also mentions that remaining 260 km of Delhi – Mumbai Expressway will be awarded before 31st of March this year. This express way will pass through several states including Gujarat.
Amritsar Jamnagar Expressway NH 754K will be a six-lane expressway in length of 1,316 kilometres through Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat, connecting three big refineries of Bathinda, Barmer (Pachpadra) and Jamnagar. It will also connect Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant (Bathinda) and Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Plant. This expressway is a part of Bharatmala Pariyojana phase I. This expressway will cut distance between Amritsar and Jamnagar by 10% from 1,430 to 1,316 kilometres.
