BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir Atladara starts a 500 bed COVID Hospital with oxygen facility

Vadodara: BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Atladara has started a dedicated COVID hospital functioning from Tuesday- 13th April 2021 at Yagnapurush Sabhagruh of the temple with the capacity of 500 beds and oxygen facilities for the Covid-19 patients.
The installation of piped Oxygen lines and liquid oxygen tank has been already done and the facility of ICU and ventilators are to be set up in upcoming days. So far total 45 Covid-19 patients are shifted here from the Gotri Hospital for further treatment.
Pujya Shri Gyanvatsal Swami said, “The idea of developing a Covid hospital in BAPS mandir, considering the large area and facilities, was of OSD IAS Vinod Rao. They approached us regarding the same and we are glad for providing this service. Our Guruhari Mahant Swami Maharaj, our senior saints and Pujya Ishwarcharan Swami gave their permission for it. The non-medical infrastructures including the area of the shed, bedding facility, kitchen, fans, air-coolers and parking were contributed by BAPS Sanstha and the credit of arranging the medical infrastructures totally goes to the Government of Gujarat and Health ministry. The arrangements were done within a short span of four days as the basic non-medical infrastructures were already available.”
Government officials including Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Dr. Vinod Rao, MLA Yogesh Patel, Mayor Keyur Rokadiya and MP Ranjanben Bhatt visited and observed the functioning of the hospital.
It is to be noted that BAPS has been involved in various social-welfare activities in the state amidst the time of the pandemic since the nationwide lockdown.
