July 03, 2021
Mahesana: The construction work for a six-lane highway connecting Mehsana to Palanpur is further delayed and causing inconvenience to many who travel on this crucial stretch of North Gujarat.
Despite the target date of completion of the project ended on 19th May 2021, the work of developing this six-lane Mehsana-Palanpur highway at a cost of Rs 445 crores is only 50 to 55 percent complete.
The agency was appointed on 18th November 2019 for this project and it was supposed to complete it by 19th May this year. The Government has given an extension of 6 months for completion of works in view of covid-19 pandemic and related issues of availability of laborers.
The commuters meanwhile are facing inconvenience due to diversions and metal work on both sides of the road. The diversions have become risky for the vehicles especially at night. DeshGujarat
