No Tazia procession in Ahmedabad and Rajkot this year

Ahmedabad: City Police and Tazia committee have decided not to hold Tazia processions in the city continuously for the second year due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Ahmedabad police and Tazia committee members have unanimously taken this decision in a meeting. Tazia for fulfilling the mannat (oath) will also not be taken out. A decision has been taken that Tazia will need to be buried at the same place where they are placed.

Tazia procession is taken out every year to mark Muharram which falls on Friday- 20th August this year.

In a related development, Tazia procession will not be taken out in the Rajkot city as well. DeshGujarat
