Redeveloped railway station of Surat will be 31-storey tall

Surat: Proposed multi-model transport hub or the re-developed railway station of Surat will include 12 to 14 buildings including a 31-storey five-star hotel. The multi-modal transport hub will have 121 meters height.
The re-development cost of Surat railway station and Udhna railway station is estimated at Rs 1190 crores and Rs 94.50 crores respectively. The presentation for the project of re-developed Surat railway was shown by the railway officials in a function organized by CREDAI to felicitate Minister of State for Railways and local Lok Sabha MP Darshana Jardosh at CREDAI. The re-development of both the stations will be done considering the requirements in period of upcoming 50 years.
Railway officials had also invited developers for their participation in the tenders process for the project and also invited suggestions of participators for changes in the commercial development plan.
Surat and Udhna railway station are to be developed on PPP (Public-Private partnership) basis. The RFO (request for offer) is issued for the projects of both railway stations and its last date is 30th September. The process of allocation of tenders will be completed within 6 months. DeshGujarat
