5.5 lakh applications received for recruitment of 1382 Police Sub Inspectors

Gandhinagar: Around 5.5 lakh applications have been received for the recruitment of 1382 posts of Police Sub-inspector (PSI) in the state.

The process of scrutiny of these applications is going on at present and the physical test will take place in the first week of December. Out of the 1382 posts, 951 are for males and 431 are for females. The category of unarmed, armed and intelligence department are included in it. The highest applications are made from Ahmedabad which are 63 thousand followed by Banaskantha and Bhavnagar with 50 thousand and 32 thousand applications respectively.

There are around 1.5 lakh applications of female candidates out of the 5.5 lakh applications. The applications of female candidates in Ahmedabad, Banaskantha and Bhavnagar are 16 thousand, 10 thousand and 8 thousand respectively. The physical test for Lok Rakshak Dal (LRD) and PSI recruitment are arranged together as the criteria are similar for both.

The physical test for the candidates who have applied for PSI recruitment will take place in the first week of December which will run for 20 to 25 days at around 15 places across the state. The preliminary exam will take place in January. The remaining process including mains examination will be completed within two to three months after that.

Thus, the process of recruitment of around 24 thousand posts of LRD, SRP and PSI will be completed within a year.
