Maulana of Madrassa booked under POCSO for alleged rape of minor student

Valsad: The police have filed crime against the maulana of madrassa in Silvassa for rape of a minor female under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

A minor female studying at madrassa in Bavisa faliya at Silvassa had alleged that the Tariq Mohammad Sheikh, Maulana of madrassa had raped her. Her parents had complained at the Silvassa police station on Tuesday. The maulana was booked after the arrival of medical reports. The victim’s samples are sent for forensic investigation.

The police are also investigating with help of CCTV footage of Madrassa. The inquiry of other 35 females studying at the madrassa is also being conducted. The victim’s mother said that she was studying there for 4 years. The wife of the accused maulana said that she will give him talaq if the offence is proved, it is learnt.
