Tasnim Mir from Gujarat becomes number one badminton player in Under-19 Girls category

Mahesana: Tasnim Mir, a 16-year old badminton player from Mehsana has become world no.1 in Under-19 Girls category, in a ranking declared by Badminton World Federation.
She is the first Indian badminton player to become world number 1 in under-19 girls’ category at the age of 16 years. She had achieved victory in a junior international tournament.
She was recently selected in the Indian badminton team. She is also the first Gujarati player to be selected in the Indian senior badminton team at a young age. Her father Irfan Mir, working as ASI in Mehsana police is a qualified badminton coach and he provided her training. She is also trained at Hyderabad Gopichand training center for 3 years and in Assam for 2 years.
She started playing badminton at 6 years of age. She has become champion 22 times in various categories. She has become Asian champion twice. She has become champion in doubles in 2018 and in singles in 2019. She achieved a bronze medal in the ward junior championship.
