Mega demolition of slum units aligned to railway track in Surat

Surat: The railway department has started a mega demolition drive of slums units that had popped up aligned to the main railway track of Westeran Railways illegally from Ankleshwar to Bhestan. As many as 500 slum units were demolished on Tuesday.
The demolition was started after the supreme court lifted the stay on demolition. The mega operation was started at 9 am with the help of Vinit Kumar from Mumbai RPF (Railway Protection Force) Division. The drive will continue atleast for 2 more days, during which 1.5 thousand slums will be demolished. Total 900 slums in Milannagar were demolished during this drive. DeshGujarat
