Pre-schools and anganwadi reopening from Thursday across Gujarat
February 14, 2022
Gandhinagar: The government of Gujarat today announced its decision to reopen the pre-schools and anganwadi (bal mandir – kindergartens) schools in offline mode across the State from upcoming Thursday.
Education minister Jitu Vaghani made this announcement. He said the Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) will be effective and parents’ written consent will be required for offline presence in the schools.
It’s worth noting that pre-schoolers were significantly affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as online classes for kids in the 3-6 year age group was ineffective for imparting knowledge. These children have already lost two precious formative years, and resuming offline classes was the only way out to bridge the learning gap. Due to the pandemic, pre-school admissions also dropped compared to the pre-COVID era.
With continuously decreasing number of fresh covid cases, the State government has already allowed reopening of class 1 to 12 of schools earlier. DeshGujarat
