It’s worth noting that about a week ago, India and Australia had signed The India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement 0 “IndAus ECTA”. Prime Minister Modi had thanked PM Morrison and former PM Tony Abbott for their leadership and said that signing of IndAus ECTA in such a short span of time reflects the depth of mutual confidence between the two countries.

In June 2020, Australian PM Scott Morrison had during virtual talk with PM Modi said, “I wish I could be there for what has become the famous ‘Modi hug’ and; share my samosas. Next time, it will have to be the Gujarati Khichdi. I will try that in the kitchen before next time we meet in person.”

PM Modi reacting to this had said, the people of Gujarat and especially those who live in Australia will be very happy to know your desire. Khichdi is common simple food item across the States in India. He would look forward to have it when both meet.
