Highlights of PM Modi’s speech:
-Gujarat is progressing in all directions. The country takes note of its development. Two decades ago, Gujarat had only 9 medical colleges. And there were only 1100 seats. Today there’s AIIMS here and over 3 dozens medical college. Today there’s an arrangement of 6000 seats. In 2021 AIIMS has been started with 50 seats. Ahmedabad and Rajkot medical colleges are witnessing upgradation. In Bhavnagar the same task has been nearly completed. The civil hospital in Ahmedabad has 1500 beds, and I believe it’s a great work that the infrastructure has been created for women and children. A 800 bed separate hospital for cardiology has been created with a research facility. Kidney and dialysis was a big problem. Today in every district, free dialysis services are started.
-Even if we build a number of hospitals and create many beds, it will not solve the problem. If we make an atmosphere that we don’t need to go to the hospital at all, that is the solution. Today I opened a new hospital here today but what can be my wish? I would wish that this hospital remain vacant. And when that shall happen? If we take care of cleanliness, if there’s great anger against littering. Same way we are working for a pure potable water supply through Nal Se Jal yojana. The other thing is nutrition. If we keep dumping whatever junkfood is available in our stomachs then it can create a problem. Acharya Vinoba had said that observing fast is easier but consuming measured food intake is more difficult. If we want to avoid diabetes then we need to walk and find other preventive things. During covid pandemic, our Yog and Ayurved were highly recognized worldwide. Turmeric export was highest. And so if we shift to Yog. In the month of June, International Yoga Day will be marked. Can this Kutch district set a world record in Yoga Day events?
-Kutchi brothers live in so many countries across the world. People visit our Rann Utsav. Kutch’s hospitality is being admired countrywide. But can we allow the situation that foreign tourists are absent in Rann Utsav? I have a request to make to Kutchi brothers, especially the Leuva Patel brothers who are spread across the country and worldwide. Each Kutchi family living abroad should send a minimum of five foreign persons to tour the Rann of Kutch every year. Secondly, we have built Sardar Patel’s such a huge global monument. I expect that five people you send to Rann of Kutch must visit the Statue of Unity too.
-I request Maldharis of Kutch that Kutch district has now got water, it has now got greenery. We grow cumin, Kamalam (dragon fruit)… We have dairy too now in Kutch. Then we can advise Maldhari (shepherds) that shepherds may stop moving outside Kutch and educate their children. Kutch needs to excavate 75 reservoirs and each such reservoir should be so deep that 50 trucks submerge in water completely in monsoon.
