Heat wave: 123 traffic signals shut during afternoon in Ahmedabad

Sabarmati: Total 123 traffic signals of Ahmedabad will remain closed in the afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm till the heat continues.

The decision was made in a meeting of the traffic department of the city on Sunday. The department had closed 60 traffic signals from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday on a trial basis. It was decided to close 123 out of 184 traffic signals of the city in the meeting. The remaining 57 traffic signals will remain open.

JCP (Traffic) Mayank Chavda said that the decision was made after review after the 2-day trial. The duration of the signal will also be reduced. The signal duration of one minute will be reduced to 30 to 40 seconds. The decision will be in force till the heat continues in the city. DeshGujarat
