May 27, 2022
Surat: Gujarat Auto rickshaw Federation President Jayanti Prajapati has warned autorickshaw drivers of Surat and Vadodara not to use the hood and posters with the Aam Admi Party (AAP) symbol and the photographs of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann because it is against the rules of RTO.
The police and the RTO will take strict action if any auto-rickshaw driver is found violating the auto rickshaw registration & passing rules, and no help from the federation will be forthcoming in such matters, the union has conveyed the rickshaw drivers, adding that elections are approaching and the code of conduct will come into force soon. If any rickshaw is found to have hoods supporting any particular political party, such rickshaws will be detained by the police and the RTO.
Many auto rickshaws use the hoods to campaign for the AAP, which the leaders of the Federation and the Vadodara union have strongly objected to and have asked members to maintain a safe distance from political campaigning of any kind. DeshGujarat
