Gandhinagar: Former State minister and former Bharuch district BJP chief Khumansinh Vansiya rejoined ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today. He was offered saffron scarf by State party chief CR Patil today at State party headquarters Shri Kamalam here.

Vansiya in his address said: ‘In 1973, Jan Sangh’s Gujarat state convention was held and I was in 11th class in school. I had then dressed Jan Sangh’s scarf then. I was in jailed also during the emergency. I was in 1980s secretary of BJP in Bharuch district and then also became general secretary and president of district unit. I was elected in Vagra assembly seat in 1995. I have travelled on scoter and old jeep with Modi saheb. PM Modi has given solution to some major issues that remained unresolved in the past. I wish Modi ji should rule for next twenty years in India. I used to meet our Bharuch district president Atodariya and state party chief CR Patil regularly. I am connected to some voluntary services and I have rejoined BJP so that I can be helpful to party in upcoming State assembly polls.’

In reply to media questions, Vansiya said he was in no political party before joining BJP. In reply to another question he said he was still of opinion that liquor prohibition ban should be lifted and if party do that it will will all 182 seats. He added that this was his personal opinion and he is bound to accept whatever is the party’s stand on this issue.
