Clamor for Airport, FCI godown in Mehsana to be shifted outside the city
June 06, 2022
Mehsana: The Mehsana MP has written to the Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister and the state’s civil aviation minister for shifting the Mehsana Aerodram and FCI godown respectively outside the city limits on an urgent basis.
In her letter to the state’s civil aviation minister, Purnesh Modi, MP Shardaben Patel says that the airport located in the center of the city is posing a lot of difficulties for ordinary people. The first is that government clearance is needed to construct high rise buildings in the vicinity. The second is that many students are being trained as pilots at the aerodrome because of which several flights pass above Radhanpur crossroads which is also a cause of many problems. If the airport is shifted outside the city, then the students will also be able to complete their training without any fear or difficulty.
Regarding the FCI godown on Modhera road, the MP has written to Union Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Piyush Goyal, that the long queue of trucks all the time outside the FCI godown is leading to traffic-related problems. If this godown is also shifted to a location outside the city, the trucks can continue doing their work without interruption and it will also ease the traffic situation in the city. DeshGujarat.
