Surat: Adajan police have detained a 37-yr-old man for causing inconvenience to a woman married to a land broker living in Adajan by purchasing lingerie online and having it shipped to the woman’s residence.
The woman, whose identity has been withheld for obvious reasons, received calls from courier boys asking for her address so that they could deliver the parcel meant for her. But the woman used to feel surprised because she had not ordered anything online.
Once a neighbour delivered a parcel to the land broker’s wife and told her that if she is ordering anything online, she should order it at the correct address. But the victim informed the neighbour that some unknown person was trying to cause inconvenience by placing orders in her name. The parcel that the neighbour had delivered contained lingerie.
Matters came to a head when the victim received a call from Divas Lingerie telling her if she is ordering online, why then does she feel the need to cancel it. The company said that they have to bear the shipping expenses for every order that is cancelled.
But the victim had then informed the company’s employee that she was being harassed and somebody unknown was placing the orders and shipping them to her address. She had asked the company’s employee to provide her with the telephone number used for placing the order and the employee instead provided the IP address from which the orders were being placed.
Cyber Crime police have tracked down Samir Hirachand Icecreamwalla (37), a married father of two girls who works as a salesman, based on the IP address and have detained him. According to the police, Icecreamwalla is known to the victim. He was doing this out of one-sided love for the victim. DeshGujarat.
