June 22, 2022
Modasa: Hariom Ashram has made an appeal for removal of Pujya Mota’s statue as it was Pujya Mota’s own wish that no statue of him should be installed anywhere.
A memorial of Shri Mota who established the Maun Ashram at Surat and Nadiad has recently come up on Malpur Road in the city of Modasa in North Gujarat. The Hariom Ashram Sanstha of Surat has made an appeal to Modasa Municipality to remove this monument as it is against the order, wishes and virtues of Pujya Mota himself. Shri Mota had asked not to build his own statue or monument. His organization has appealed that only the circle may remain named after Puja Mota, but let the statue be removed.
Born in the Bhavsar community, Chunilal Bhavsar (Pujya Sri Mota) established Maun Ashram in Surat and many followers served him. Shri Mota Circle has been constructed in front of Malpur Road Sai Temple in Modasa and a statue of Shri Mota has been placed there. Rajinikanth Popatlal, the trustee of Hariom Ashram, Surat has through an email to Modasa Municipality appealed for removal of statue. DeshGujarat
