Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted the e-launching of GARIMA-Cell, a body that will guide higher education institutions in the state to achieve good ranking and ratings in national and international surveys.

The Gujarat Accreditation and Ranking Institute Mechanism and Arrangement (GARIMA) Cell will be headquartered at the Indian Institute of Teacher’s Education (IITE).

Speaking on the occasion, Patel said that there are several institutions with world-class infrastructure offering quality education and training in the state. Gujarat also has sector specific universities, he added. According to Patel, GARIMA cell will play a key role in preparing these institutes to get ranked nationally as well as internationally.

It should be noted that GARIMA Cell will play the role of a ‘State Quality Assurance Center’. The cell will ensure that more and more institutions from the state are able to get international ranking to compete on the world stage, National Institutional Ranking Framework and National Board for Accreditation (NBA) to compete at the national level, Gujarat state Ranking Framework (GSIRF) to compete at the state-level apart from other notable rankings such as NIRF and ARIIA. For this purpose, GARIMA cell will enter into memorandums of understandings to strike partnerships with national and international institutes and universities in order to offer quality training and guidance so that each and every higher education institute in the state gets accredited in the coming years.
