NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu to campaign in Gujarat on July 13
July 08, 2022
New Delhi: Draupadi Murmu, the candidate of the BJP-led NDA for the impending presidential polls, will visit Gujarat on July 13 to garner support in favor of her nomination. She is likely to visit tribal areas of the state, the Statue of Unity and the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad during her visit.
Murmu will meet Gujarat BJP MLAs and make an appeal to cast their votes in her favor during the presidential elections. Being an ethnic tribal herself, she is expected to meet tribal MLAs from the Congress party also to elicit their support.
Polling will be held for deciding who will be India’s next president on July 8. Parliamentarians and MLAs are as such free to decide which candidate to support as political parties cannot issue a whip for presidential polls.
