Very heavy rain forecast for Saurashtra, Kutch, South Gujarat during 13-17 July

Gandhinagar: Saurashtra-Kutch and South Gujarat are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rain from 13th to 17th July. The necessary instructions of advanced transfers from low lying areas are given to the administration, said the relief commissioner Shri P Swaroop.

The meeting of the watch group was held under the leadership of relief commissioner Shri P Swaroop in SEOC Gandhinagar. The districts of Saurashtra Kutch namely Devbhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Morbi and Kutch and the districts of South Gujarat namely Chhota Udepur, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rain from 13th to 17th July, as per IMD forecast.

He instructed regarding cleaning works, dewatering pump facilities in areas with water logging, immediate repair of broken roads and health measures in the affected municipalities and municipal corporations.

The water storage in Sardar Sarovar is 15,94,04 MCFT which is 47.71 percent of total storage capacity. There is an increase of 7 percent compared to last week. Total 18 water bodies are on high alert, 8 on alert and 11 on warning in the state. DeshGujarat
