ACB Gujarat nabs weights and measures Inspector in Bribe case

Ahmedabad: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed a junior inspector of weights and measures office in Sarangpur in Ahmedabad in a bribe case of Rs 600.
The complainant did work of electronic weight scales repairing, servicing, and government stamping on behalf of the merchant. The government charges Rs 150 per weight scale for stamping on site and Rs 100 handling charge. The money is paid through challan. After giving challan and voucher, the ward inspector of weights and measures issues certificates after government stamping after checking the weight scale. The complainant got a challan after paying Rs 600 government fee for government stamping of four electronic weight scales along with a Rs 100 handling fee. He then approached the accused junior inspector Dhaval Ishwarlal Prajapati on call, during which the accused demanded a bribe.
The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe. The accused was found taking a bribe of Rs 600 considering Rs 150 per weight scale during a trap executed by ACB. The accused has been detained.
