DEO to approve Medium Change instead of GSEB

Gandhinagar: The students of class 9 to class 12 will now be able to get the approval for medium-change from the respective district education officer (DEO), instead of GSEB.
Earlier, the students of class 9 to class 12 had to apply to GSEB for changing Gujarati medium to English medium and vice-versa. Then GSEB used to approve the applications after checking by the state education department. The students had to travel to Gandhinagar for the purpose. So, the students and parents demanded relief from the state education department regarding the same.
The education committee and executive committee of the GSEB decided to grant the authority of checking and approving the applications of medium change to the respective district education officer.
