Over 5.50 lakh cusecs discharge from Narmada dam

Gandhinagar: At 1 pm on 23rd August today, over 5.45 lakh cusecs water was being released from Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam in the river bed in addition to over 17,400 cusecs release in canals.

The dam had over 5.62 lakh cusecs inflow. It was 90.90 per cent full with 8,599.30 mcm volume of water against designed storage capacity of 9,460 mcm. The level of water in the dam was 135.93 meter against full reservoir level of 138.68 meter.

Another significant discharge today was witnessed at Kadana dam. At 1 pm, over 2 lakh cusecs water was released to rived bed in addition to 900 cusecs release in canal. The dam was 91.30 per cent full and the level of water was 126.45 m against full level of 127.71 m. DeshGujarat
