Gold coated with white rhodium found; a passenger held at Surat airport

Surat: The customs department at Surat Airport found two pieces of gold coated by white rhodium from the trolley bag of a female passenger who arrived at Surat via Sharjah- Surat flight of Air India express.

A female passenger Sharif Riyaz Shaikh arrived at Surat airport in Sharjah- Surat flight on Thursday- 25th August. The flight of Air India IX 172 landed at Surat airport at 11.25 pm on 25th August. The custom officials, when checking the luggage of the passengers, found the behavior of the female passenger suspicious.

They found two wires of gold coated with white rhodium of 100 grams weight from her trolley bag after checking. Its estimated market price is Rs 5.3 lakh. The custom department seized them. The female is released on bail after legal proceedings. DeshGujarat
