Surat Police book 2 in suicide case of Hindu youth over Cow beef

Surat: The police booked a female and her brother after her Hindu husband committed suicide because they allegedly forced him to eat cow beef.

The 27-year-old Hindu man Rohit Sinh worked as a master at a dyeing mill in Udhna BRC. He committed suicide two months back after uploading a suicide note on Facebook stating that his wife Sonam Ali and her brother Muktar Ali made him eat cow beef by threatening to kill him.

The Hindu man Rohit had an affair with his coworker Sonam Ali. His family members denied marrying her as she was Muslim and already married. They asked him to live separately if he was willing to marry Sonam Ali. So, Rohit left his family and lived with Sonam for a year and did not maintain relations with his family members.

The accused Sonam Ali, immediately performed the cremation of her husband, after he committed suicide without informing his family. The accused female had allegedly hidden her identity at the crematorium. The accused female and her brother absconded after the death of Rohit.

A complaint was filed at Udhna police station by Rohit’s mother after his death. The police have booked Sonam Jakir Ali and her brother Muktar Ali (both live in Patelnagar, Udhna, mainly from Uttar Pradesh).
