People of Gujarat will not allow backdoor entry of Medha Patkar in Gujarat Politics: Amit Shah

Maninagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah speaking at Transtadia here today slammed the attempts for backdoor entry of Medha Patkar in Gujarat Politics. Shah didn’t mention the name of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with which Narmada Bachao Andolan NGO operator Medha Patkar had been associated.

Shah while speaking at National Games Mascot and website launching function at Transtadia here said:

‘If Modi ji had not brought Narmada water to Khavda in Kutch, if he had not become Bhagirath and brought this water to Narmada then development was not possible at all.

But these days, some people have started a new thing. Medha Patkar, one who opposed Narmada, her entry through backdoor in Gujarat politics.

I want to ask the youths of Gujarat. Those who opposed Narmada Yojana, those who opposed Gujarat’s development, whether you would allow them entry in Gujarat? Say loudly, would you allow?

This attempt is going on, I want to tell all people of Gujarat that those who for decades opposed Gujarat, opposed our lifeline like Narmada Yojana at each and every stage and forum across the world … Those who want to come with Medha Patkar, I want to tell them to stop here and now, this is Gujarat and there’s no place for anti-Gujarat people here.

I have trust on people of Gujarat and our government and Modiji’s leadership. One may try but the people of Gujarat will never allow promotion of those who are against Gujarat.’
